Janet Julian on Knight Rider

In 1984, Janet Julian appeared on Knight Rider, the campy TV show about a sentient car and its wealthy owner, David Hasselhoff.

In a third season epsiode of Knight Rider called 'The Ice Bandits' Janet Julian plays artist Judy Tompkins, who is in a relationship with a man named Charley Winters (played by Bruce Fairbairn). Unbeknownst to her, the man is a thief. After the jewelry at a charity auction (attended by Janet Julian and the cast of Knight Rider) is ripped off by two robbers whose faces are hidden by motorcycle helmets, Michael Knight and company must search for answers. The search leads to wine country in Napa Valley where a plastic surgeon is altering criminal's appearances in exchange for a cut of their ill-gotten gains.

When Janet Julian was featured on Knight Rider in 1984, it was the third of three appearances on popular night-time comedy/dramas. In 1982, she had guest starred on The Fall Guy and in 1983 she put in an appearance on Simon & Simon. After doing Knight Rider, Janet Julian's next move was to make two feature films, Ghost Warrior and Choke Canyon, both released in 1986. It seems like she may have already had movies in mind because in 1984 Janet Julian also had a role in the movie Fear City.

Janet Julian on Simon & Simon

In 1983, Janet Julian guest starred on the TV show Simon & Simon, a long-running series from the 1980s which featured Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker as brothers who worked as private detectives in the San Diego area.

In a second season episode titled 'Design for Killing' Janet Julian plays a young model named Tracy Penn. When the Simon brothers get called in to protect a new line of designer clothing, they end up getting involved in more than they bargained for.

AS you may know, Janet Julian (the stage name of Janet Louise Johnson) used to be a model in the 1970s but began to focus more on acting after being cast as Nancy Drew on the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. When she was featured on this episode of Simon & Simon, she was able to make use of her modeling skills.

Janet Julian on The Fall Guy

In 1982, Janet Julian guest starred on the TV show The Fall Guy. The series, about a stuntman/bounty hunter and his cohorts, starred Lee Majors in the lead role. The supporting cast included Douglas Barr, Heather Thomas and Markie Post.

In a second season episode of The Fall Guy titled 'Hell on Wheels' Janet Julian portrays Elizabeth 'Mad Dog' McClosky, a competitive roller derby player. Apparently she had an outstanding warrant in her home state and had skipped town and gone on the road with her roller derby team. Colt Seavers (Lee Majors) and his crew then begin the process of capturing the bounty, but soon find out that Janet Julian's character is actually a nice person in a tough situation. They also find out that the owner of her roller derby team is disreputable, so they decide to take him down.

'Hell on Wheels' also featured guest stars Clu Gulager, James Wainwright and Tracy Scoggins.

When Janet Julian appeared on The Fall Guy in 1982, it was the first of three guest appearances in three years on popular night-time good guys vs bad guys comedy/dramas. In 1983, she would guest star on Simon & Simon and in 1984 she would be featured on an episode on Knight Rider.

Barbara De Rossi in Freckled Max and the Spooks

In 1987, Barbara De Rossi played a key role in a television miniseries called Teta, otherwise known as Frankenstein's Aunt. This TV production was edited down into a feature film called Freckled Max and the Spooks (which is the English title of the original Czechoslovakian Pehavý Max a strasidlá). The project featured an international cast, with actors from a variety of countries participating. Originally presented in the Slovak language, it has also been released in with German audio (possibly other languages as well) and with subtitles in a number of languages.

Barbara De Rossi plays the role of Klara, the love interest of Frankenstein (!), in Freckled Max and the Spooks. She was no stranger to TV miniseries, having already appeared in The Octopus (La piovra) in 1984 and had experience with miniseries with international casts having previously appeared in Quo Vadis? and Mussolini and I, both in 1985.
